Antonis and Rick Steves

Antonis and Rick Steves

In September 2017 Antonis had the opportunity to work with a guru of American travellers, Rick Steves.

He visited Mykonos on a cruise ship and Antonis was his private guide and driver for a day. The shooting at Delos and Mykonos were perfect and here you may check the result.

One of Rick Steves highlights was his hike with Antonis to the summit of Delos. Watch how that moment was captured with this short video.

Just a few weeks later, Rick Steves sends his guide books writer (Cameron Hewitt) to Mykonos to meet with Antonis and update the info about Mykonos provided in the guide book “Rick Steves Europe”.

Antonis was an incredible and most personable guide who knew Mykonos like the back of his hand. He took us throughout the area, introducing us to local people and businesses: an artisan who makes mosaics, a bakery, a business “in the fortress wall” that was once a home. He showed great passion about the people and the country, and was able to convey that to us in his own personal way,. Of all the tour guides we had on our 14 day trip, Antonis was the best of the best. Should you go to Mykonos, you must insist that Antonis be your personal guide.

Believe what other travelers have written, Antonis is as good as they say! I booked a group of 14 for Delos and Mykonos walking food tour. Antonis blew us away with his knowledge but where he really shines is making that knowledge fun. His expressive narrative makes an impact and I found myself hanging on his words. Sometimes guides overload with dates and fact after fact after fact, almost in an effort to impress with their accurate memories…that’s when my mind wanders then I miss the good tidbits that are sprinkled in. Antonis kept my attention the full day, even when explaining history. Ha! And the walking/food tour back on Mykonos? So delicious I returned to 2 of the stops on my own when visiting again the following week. The perfect tour with the perfect guide. Book him NOW or be disappointed later.

Forget that Rick Steeves recommends him. He is simply the best!! Knows the island like I know my own house. Everyone on the island knows him which works wonders on the tour. He gets you everywhere! He knows every hidden road and alleyway. You learn things most tour guides don’t know. He spends the winter slow months scouting the island for new finds. And new finds are indeed found!! His tours are well planned and custom made to what you want to see and are interested in. We’re coming back next year and spending more time on the island – touring with him. Book him. You won’t be sorry. Oh! Make sure he takes you to the Mykonos Farmers. Manny and sherry.

Our family toured Delos and Mykonos with Antonis. Everyone agrees it is the best tour we have ever taken. Antonis is an excellent story teller, bringing history to life. He uses humor, passion and his extensive knowledge to make you feel you are back in time. He has many special touches like stopping by a local bakery for treats and then by his house for a traditional gift. Even our teenagers which generally don’t love history tours can’t stop talking about Antonis.
